Al Roujoou Ilal Qamar
Toni Geitani, for whom sound is the primary instrument of political indoctrination, has chosen to focus his research on the creation of new sounds. Mainly self-produced, his first album is composed of electronic music. This album "Al Roujoou Ilal Qamar", was unveiled on June 29 in Zoukak. This was the opportunity for Toni Geitani, alone with his machines, to present his compositions on stage. Both music and cinema are Geitani's way of expressing his unease in a world that is constantly falling apart. In the roar of sounds with which the album of this young artist opens rises a rocky voice questioning the state of the world, and the role of art in the face of this crisis of civilization in which the contemporary era finds itself. It’s like a manifesto, both sonically and politically, that paves the way for a myriad of meticulously produced sounds. The voices that rise up in the heart of this experimental landscape are expressed in Arabic. They are many, and yet are often only one, that of Toni Geitani himself. A voice whose perfectly mastered moving tension participates in a narration that transports its listener from one end to the other of an album alternating between fully experimental compositions (Bidaya, Layla Fi Tichrin) and more melodic pieces (Raboukom, La Tabki).
